Harlyn Radley was killed in crash that injured her mother and other driver
LEROY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A 6-year-old died following a three-car crash south of Battle Creek on Wednesday.
The wreck happened around Two:30 p.m. on M-66 near Glenn Cross Road in Leroy Township, according to Michigan State Police.
Police say a southbound driver lost control of her vehicle, which then glided into oncoming traffic and hit a northbound vehicle. Another northbound vehicle then hit the very first northbound car.
Harlyn Radley, 6, was in the back seat on the driver’s side of the southbound car. An unidentified nurse who stopped to help performed CPR on the dame at the scene. Harlyn was then rushed to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, where she died as a result of her injuries.
Harlyn’s mother, Heather Radley, was driving the southbound vehicle. She was earnestly hurt in the crash and taken to Bronson Methodist.
The driver of the very first northbound car was taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say speed and intense, deep-throating snow were likely contributing factors in the crash. Everyone who was hurt is believed to have been wearing their seat belt and neither drugs nor alcohol seem to have been factors.
