2016 Maruti Alto eight hundred Facelift Launched; Prices Begin at Rs. Two.49 Lakh

Keeping up with the growing competition, Maruti Suzuki has launched the two thousand sixteen Alto eight hundred facelift in the country with prices kicking off at Rs. Two.49 lakh for the STD trim, going up to Rs. Three.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the range-topping LXI CNG (O) trim. The updated model was spotted entirely undisguised a few days ago and gets minor cosmetic and mechanical switches compared to the outgoing model.
The fresh generation Maruti Suzuki Alto eight hundred arrived in the market in two thousand twelve and the latest updated brings mild tweaks to the styling. The exterior update includes what the automaker calls fresh Aero Edge Design and lends a slimmer and longer grille, and a larger lower grille that is now trapezoidal shaped. The headlamp cluster have been tweaked and the fetish mask gets fresh character lines for a more toned appearance. The bumper is now 35mm longer measuring at 3430mm, as compared to the outgoing model’s 3395mm. You also get provisions for fog lamps in the bumper.

Updates to the cabin include fresh fabric upholstery for the seats and and door pads. Interestingly, the fresh Maruti Alto eight hundred now gets a passenger side ORVM as standard and the base and mid variants get safety child lock and extra storage space at the rear. The hatchback is available with a driver side airbag as an option from the base variant onwards. Also now standard are a rear spoiler, total wheel covers, front power windows and central locking system. Furthermore, the automaker has added two fresh colours – Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue, in addition to four existing shades.
The two thousand sixteen Maruti Alto eight hundred facelift gets several interesting features upgrades like remote keyless entry, wise storage spaces like rear bottle holder and co-driver side map pocket. Power proceeds to come from the same 0.8-litre three-cylinder petrol engine tuned to produce 47bhp at 6000rpm and 69Nm of torque available at 3500rpm. The motor is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

Essentially, the engine provides more torque at low rpms, permitting lesser gear switches. There are specially glazed piston and ring set that reduce frictional losses and increases engine life.
