At Ten:50 a.m. a van driven by a woman and carrying two adult female passengers was traveling westbound on S.R. Fifty nine at about milepost Three.

The van stopped to turn onto Canaan Ranch Road, Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Lawrence Hopper said.

A woman driving a Buick and carrying two female juvenile passengers stopped behind the van, waiting for it to turn.

A blue pickup truck driven by a woman traveling with three children approached the two stopped vehicles from behind.

Observing the truck approaching, the driver of the Buick attempted to get out of the way, Hopper said, but was incapable to avoid a collision.

“The truck ended up hitting the Buick, and hit the back of the van as well,” Hopper said, bruising all three vehicles. The driver of the pickup truck was cited for following too closely.

Hopper advises drivers to pay attention and keep an eye out for possible hazards down the road.

“Go the speed limit and scan the traffic ahead of you,” he said.

Too many people are aware of what’s going on right in front of them, Hopper said, but not what is going on five or six seconds in front of them.

“We always tell drivers, ‘ Don’t look at what’s right in front of you, because by that time it’s going to be too late for you ,'” Hopper said.

No injuries were reported by the occupants of the three vehicles, except for bumps and wounds, Hopper said, and no one was transported for medical care.

I drove down that road to Kanab yesterday with three children in my car. I followed the speed limit signs. no on else did! Sixty five is not that slow! Several people chanced to pass me and I just shook my head. I would rather be late to where I’m going than risk getting into an accident or a ticket

well, the mantra ’round these parts is “pedal to the metal and let God sort ’em out” and also “If you don’t like it then leave”…

The question of why don’t you leave is a fair question. If someone is permanently complaining about where they live then the question is a logical one is it not?

Shall I assume from your muffle that you agree it’s a logical question and therefore understandable why it’s asked?

you can assume u ask foolish questions and make ditzy presumptions

when i very first moved to Apple Valley ten years ago, there had been so many accidents within a five year span, and big life tolls… it always boiled down to locals from any of the three towns, colorado city, hilldale or apple valley FLYING like Jet airliners down 59… they sheriff took a very pro-active stance for a long time and kept their deputies posted along the hiway and it sure cut down on accidents for a long time… it looks like its embarking again. another problem in that area is not enough turn lanes.. or ppl not utilizing the gravel forstops when they go to turn.. but if its been raining they may be muddly. at sixty five if someone stops abruptly to turn right, thats not right.. but what if a dear or child ran out in front of them… ppl do need to pay attention… so glad no one was hurt. i bet the person in the blue truck feels like a heel… lets hope everyone was insured.

LOL debbie, i was more rejoicing in the fact no one is dead, it’s only you worrying about whether or not they’re insured… LOOOOOL
